Millennials made up 25 percent of the vote this year, making the youth turnout of this year’s election as low as it was in 2012. This trend toward disengagement reveals a disconnect between our nation’s political environment and the values and interests of Millennial voters. Millennials are intellectually curious individuals that need to be engaged in all areas of their life, including politics and the workplace. As Millennials become more educated in the political arena, they are more likely to engage in politics, which will extend beyond the traditional party lines. I spoke with Adam Shapiro, the host of “Talent Talks” and Brand Development Leader of Hunt Scanlon Media on how Millennials will shape politics and the workplace in the years to come.
